Abstract: Ancient-DNA has been one of science's major contributions to the field of archaeology in the last few decades. Molecules that survive
in bones shed light on questions spanning from ancient diseases and health to domestication and human evolution. Here will be presented aDNA studies on ancient human remains found in Scandinavia, divided into two major categories: One is the identification and characterization of leprosy cases from medieval Sweden, and the other is the ancestry of Europeans during the Stone Age. Those studies provide a new insight into the genetic history of both humans and microbes during the millennia.
