Description
Objectives of the course (preferably expressed in terms of learning outcomes and competences: Marine Biology
Course contents: Knowledge of the diversity of functional groups of organisms inhabiting marine sediments. Knowledge and understanding of the key geochemical variables affecting the distribution of benthic organisms. Understanding of the interactions of benthic organisms with environmental variables. Understanding the potential for using benthic sampling in environmental monitoring. Ability to analyse benthic ecological data and detecting patterns, clusters and disturbance.
